Every user-companion pair has an intimacy score (0–100). The score rises slowly through genuine conversation and more meaningfully through virtual gifts and sustained daily engagement. Keyword detection identifies emotionally significant messages and awards proportionally higher gains.

Why progression should be slow
If intimacy rises too quickly, the system loses meaning. The INTIMATE stage should feel genuinely rare and hard-won. Platforms that allow rapid progression end up with companions that behave identically on first chat as after months — removing all sense of story and development.
